Wk22 into Wk23 & June

I’m at the end of some good time off between jobs, I start my new job tomorrow and I thought I’d write a blog about my training.

This last week I’ve walked a lot, run once, being swimming twice and done two strength workouts. I’m trying to get a balance between, running, strength, swimming and walking / rest. And it seems to be working, but that’s been when I’ve been off work, so we’ll see what happens when I get settled into work.

The above detail is the training / exercise I did last week, and then a plan of what I aim to do next week. I’ll take it as it comes and might have more rest than in the plan above, but we’ll see.

I’ve been galavanting about a bit recently and as a result my sleep hadn’t been as settled as it could be, so hopefully it’ll settle with me getting early nights once I settle back into work. The good thing is I’ve been waking up early; so should be fine waking up early tomorrow morning.

Today I was up and in Tollcross 50m pool for 9am… I did 5x100m, then 5x100m with fins, putting effort in on the first 25ms. Then I did 1,600m playing around with breathing, in 29:44. A wee bit slower than I used to be, but that’s ok. Then I did 550m cool-down, for a second 3,150m this week after the outdoor swim in Lake of Monteith on Tuesday.

I’ve been loving this weather recently, and it helped me to have a nice time down in Durham exploring when I was visiting family earlier this week. I had a great time running 10k with Spyder the dog and catch g up with family down there.

Today we went a nice walk into town and had lunch out. Nearly 8km walking; then back to the garden for some sun and gardening (Fit girl gardening, me relaxing). And we did a nice walk around Lanark Loch yesterday.

I walked nearly 45km this week… quite a bit after a good day in Bridge of Allan on Monday (13km walking after a good breakfast at Friend of Mine).

As well as plenty of walking, I’ve been back in the gym and enjoying it. I’ve done 1-2 strength workouts a week, and this week I’ll aim for 2-3. We’re fortunate to have our garagym!

I’m doing a mixture of my own workouts a Squat / Deadlift / Clean and Press on one day, then Apple Fitness and / or kettlebell workouts. Here’s the plan for the next two weeks in June I think:

Looks like this nice weather is staying for a wee bit longer, and I’m looking forward to what June has in store for me.
