Wednesday night at the gym – weights session 2…

Went to the gym last night – usual ladies night… pulled up to the car park and it was abnormally FULL!!!  I looked in the pool and there were about 50 women in the pool doing aqua aerobics and I was hoping the gym wouldnt be affected by those going back to the gym as part of their new year resolutions!!
 
 
 
In December the gym had around…10-12 women in it on Wednesday nights and when I walked in last night there were around 30-35!!  Grrrr.  But I got on a bike straight away – did 33 minutes…then went onto day 2 of my new weights regime, and it went well.  I decided after Monday’s session that small weights would be better and went with 4kg weights – only using 6kg weights for a few exercises.
 
I started on the Bench:
Extended Shoulder Press 3 x 12, Tricep Extension 6 x 12, Lateral Raise (6kg) 3 x 12.
 
Then stood and did free weights:
Woodchop 6 x 12, Alternate Push Press 3 x 24, Reverse Lunge 6 x 12.
 
Then went onto the Mat with the Gym ball…phewy (it was hard work and will take a bit of getting used to – but worth it!!):
Row (face down on ball) 3 x12, Alternate Press (lying on ball) 3 x 24, Over head crunch with ball 3 x 12, Chest Press (lying on ball) 3 x 12, Twist Curl (lying on ball) 6 x 12.
 
Then finished on the Mat:
One leg squat 6 x 12, Bar Roll Out 3 x 12, Side Plank 6 x 12, Press Up (lady style with knees on ground as I can’t do full ones yet!) 3 x 12.
 
I felt very good after it.
 
CYCLE: 33 mins, 7.9 miles,  300 calories
WEIGHTS: Upper/core: 70 minutes, 350 calories.
Walk to and from work: 160 calories
= Total calorie burn: 810.
