Wk50 into Wks51 & 52 and 2020 miles total to aim for

I feel like I had a good balance this last week again… a rest day and a walk on Wednesday, three runs this week, and three rides and strength (if I manage a spin on Saturday).

On Thursday after the morning run, in the evening, my leg didn’t feel great, but it’s ok now. So I built up the run on Sunday morning, 10 x 4 min running and 1 min walking – 57 mins / 5M and I felt fine. That was even after an early morning cycle – 15 miles / 76 mins.

I woke at about 6am on Sunday – body clock probably… and instead of tossing and turning, I decided I’d get up and go for a cycle before the day started. I’d arranged to run with Eilidh at 9am, but I had plenty time before she came over (I left just after 7, and jt was dark most of the way).

Sunday finished off a good balanced week of training, physio and rest – 3 cycles of 30 miles, 3 run walks of nearly 16 miles, 5 walks, 2 good physio sessions and 2 good rest days.

George square looked nice this morning just before 8am…. I thought the usual Christmas lights would look nice…

But then I was stunned by the council building…it looked awesome (and even better with my lit up / matching bike too).

I’ve decided that the cold is horrible… I long for some heat, some sunshine and a holiday abroad. I’ll just need to bear with it all and hope we get away at some point. Bl@@dy covid and bl@@dy brexit. 😩😡

This last week I also got the garagym ready for Apple Fitness + launching on Monday 14th. I ended up getting a good deal on a mesh WiFi system that works really well… then I got an Apple TV (4th gen) from John Lewis … so I’ll be able to cast / stream onto it.. and also do the Apple workouts.

My new Apple Watch arrives on Monday too. Which km excited about. My old one is an Allle watch series 2, 42mm… and I’m selling it, so if you fancy it, drop me an email – lorn@lornpearsontrains.co.uk

It’s the aluminium case version, in excellent condition, and comes with the original box and power cable, along with a black strap. Would do a good we Christmas present for someone. I was thinking £140, but do email me if you’re interested. 🙂

Now here’s my plan for the next couple of weeks into Christmas…

I might mix it about and try some Apple fitness workouts, but I’ll try to make a focus to get my physio x3-4 done and my x3 run walks a week. I’m itching to get running on stop, but I know the walk breaks will be worth it and they’re building everything up.

I’ve done more running miles so far this month then I did in the whole of November, so that’s a bit of progress.

I might get to about 65 or 70 miles this month if I’m lucky, about another 8 runs… which might be about 870 or 880 miles running for the year. Not bad for having about 3-4 months off running with the injury.

I’ll maybe get to 600 miles cycling and 550 walking. Or if I’m really clever I could just run 870 miles and that would be 2020 miles walking, running and cycling in 2020. 😳

If the weather is ok one day I might pop
out on my bike again, but we’ll see. Here’s me on it in a reflection in the new transport museum.

I hope you have a good end to the year… I’ll be quite glad to see the back of 2020, which I’m sure many others will be too.
