Good rest day today, around 6,000 steps and apparently 6 flights climbed. And I met someone today and had a good her to help her with writing her first CV for years.
The chat went well, and she got a lot from it (some guidance and ideas, and a Cape for her too) and then in the last 5 minutes of our chat, she asked for advice on getting started at running. 😀
(After I quietly grinned inside – one of my favourite subjects to get asked about) I suggested she try something like my beginners 0 – 5k – 10k plan: https://lornpearsontrains.co.uk/2014/03/05/10-week-beginner-plan-0-to-5k-to-10k/
Then she asked about Garmin’s, and I showed her mine, and suggested she might go for the Garmin 220… with HRM, cheapest on Wiggle or Amazon. 🙂 maybe once she gets going with her running, as a reward.
Then she asked about FitBits and I showed her my Fuelband. She said, ‘I bet you download all the stats don’t you Lorn?’ then I showed her my Nike FuelBand app, that syncs to your Fuelband and downloads all the stats for you, seamlessly. Lol.
I could tell she was a little impressed, but also a little surprised and dumbfounded when she said, ‘What else have you got on you?!’
I decided against imparting the truth to her, that I also had my iPod nano and Bose earphones on my person (as I do every day at work, in case I want to listen to music), but I kept quiet, and smiled.
(She already knew I had my iPhone 6 with all of my apps, and my iPad mini with me as we spoke). Lol.
It was then I realised that I was perhaps a bit of a gadget whore!? 😉
Oh well. I’m my father’s daughter afterall. (Dr P always had the latest gadgets too!)
