Ad the cold has more or less subsided, and the rubs have increased, I’m looking forward to getting back to normal training next week. I had two weeks of strength training, but did 5 run days (and 9 rest days) during the fortnight of bugs.
Here’s what I did last week:
Wk48 – 1 Dec
Mon: 5k walk wi Fit Girl
Wed: 4M easy around the Clyde
Sat: 8.25M on the dreadmill
Sun: 7.25M Southside wi my brother
The run on the treadmill on Saturday wasn’t the best, I felt ok, but there was something still not quite right. I seemed to have to be going quite slow to keep my heart rate down and take it easy.
Whereas the run on Sunday, I felt strong and able to push it. It might have been the company or simply running outside instead of the alien that running on the treadmill is.
Or perhaps it was my brothers ‘aura’ as he described it. Like the Ready Brek man he said. He reminded me of how I think sometimes, like my super powers are overflowing and helping others to believe in themselves too. The craziness must run in the family. 😉
Anyway, now next week, I’m planning:
Wk49 – 8 Dec
Mon: Squat Strength
Tue: 4M easy run
Wed: Swim (or strength)
Thu: 9M run
Fri: Deadlift Strength
Sat: 6M run
I’m hopefully going to do all of my exercise in the morning, getting out of bed for 6:15am, weekdays.
I finished my Christmas shopping today and spent an hour or so prepping food for next week. I’m at the end of listening to Lynda Bellingham’s audio book too… something to put life into perspective a bit, for sure.
Now I’m off to my second last swimming teaching ever. I can’t wait to have full Sunday’s off for the first time in over 13 years!
