My biggest challenge…

My biggest challenge this year… is this, dressing up like a girl for my best friends wedding.

It’s all so new to me and I have to say that I’m glad I’ve got Fit Girl and my best friend to help me out!

I was thinking… yesterday, my best friend delivered my lovely dark blue bridesmaid dress to me at work. I told a few if my female colleagues that it was here, and they got so excited and wanted to see it.

There I was standing, unzipping the dress bag, and they were so excited … I on the other hand, wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to stepping up to the mark and looking like a lady for the day, but it won’t come natural to me, and it might just be one of the biggest challenges of my life.

I know that might sound a bit strange to all of you girly girls out there, who love getting dressed up in high heels and dresses, but for me, I get my excitement from garmin’s, gadget and trainers, not looking or dressing up like a lady. 😉

I am and always have been a bit of a Tom boy. As a teenager and young adult, I rarely dressed up as a girl and can count on the one hand the number of times I’ve dressed up in a skirt or dress. It’s just me.

Anyway, for my best friends wedding in keen to step up to the challenge of looking (and acting) like a pretty lady for once in my life! I’ve got the high heels (ok they’re only about an inch high, but if I got higher I’d be stuck in one spot, trust me.

So now I’ve got the dress too and I need to get it altered so that it fits, and get a bra that fits and works with the dress (and hopefully gives me a bust too!) All of this, especially the alterations and long trailing dress are very new to me.

So I’ve been to the dress alteration shop, they’ve pinned it up and the next stage is getting the bra and getting the dress altered to fit. Hair, nails, dress, make up. What a palaver! 😉

I was saying (jokingly) yesterday to my Dad that I thought I might be I’ll as I was starting to like my new sparkly heels and they were starting to feel comfy. (After an hour of wearing them I wasn’t saying that, so I clearly need to wear them in a bit more around the house).

He replied and said:

> If you put the dress on and love it you will really be in trouble!!!

I like the dress, but I like my trainers and shorts better. 😉 I don’t think I’ll be TURNING into a lady just yet.

Ps: I’m sorry if all if this is a bit off subject re training etc, I was a bit worried it might put people off reading my blog, but someone said it’s nice seeing the journey … of me TURNING from Tom boy / runner to lady in a dress and heels.

I will rise to the challenge and I’ll try my best to help make my best friends wedding the best day of her life.

(Running a marathon might be easier for me! Lol)
