Wk30 into Wk31

This week has been a good rest week. Listen to your body, so they say… and boy do I listen to mine. My feet were aching again after my 3×6 hard miles in 24 hours.

To quote myself from yesterday, ‘I’m pooped.’ A measly 3 hours sleep on Saturday night, and I’ve been trying to catch up ever since.

Lucky for me though, I’ve hardly done any exercise and no specific training for sure. Just walking and 2 coaching sessions all week. The arches of my feet were really sore again.

I took Monday Tuesday fully off exercise and a wee fast coaching session on Wednesday evening was ok. I wasn’t too sore during it, but I did feel it.

I’ve had some nice lie ins, and managed to hang my medals up too at long last. I also had a good afternoon / evening with my niece on Thursday which was nice. And I’ve seen a few events at BBC @the Quay too.

5-6 days on, and I’m still pooped. I know what I need: SLEEP.

This weekend, I’m still resting from training and I’ll get done good lie ins before Athletics at Hampden on Saturday, then we’re going to the Closing Ceremony on Sunday night. I can’t wait!

Next week, the plan is to get back into strength training and running:

Mon: Strength
Tue: Run
Wed: Swim or Strength
Thu: Run
Fri: Strength
Sat: Run
Sun: Rest
