Wk21 – 13.1M Fartlek miles

I was meaning to do 12 easy miles this morning, but I thought I’d mix it up with a few random fast miles in between.

I was up at 7am, breakfast and then out the door for about half 7, quarter to 8. I had a sort of route planned, up to Eastwood Toll, but right away I didn’t take a turn I was meant to so I figured I’d just see what happened.

My avg hr was about 145 for the first mile, then I decided I’d push it for the second.

Then miles 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 I pushed it. I felt really strong on mile 4, and passed a few other runners, giving them the thumbs up. I say Fartlek because I didn’t plan to push it every even mile, I just did what I felt.

After mile 10 (which was through the Pollok park hills might I add!) I took it easy and toddled on home. It was going to be 12.5 miles, but I ended up just rounding it up to a half marathon. 🙂

All good and all done before half 9 on a Sunday morning. Now, water, banana, chocolate milkshake and shower!
