Last week and this week

Last week was a bit of a mammoth week for running. With 21 miles run on the Saturday before, I had a lie in on the Monday, only to run on the Monday night with Fit Girl.

It was a nice easy 10k. Then for the who week up to Thursday (including Saturdays long run), I ran around 43 miles for the week and luckily I feel good on it.

Mon AM: Rest
PM: 10k Run wi Fit Girl

Tue AM: 5M run wi Gill
PM: PT session (45 min run) wi Super Fit Bit (4.5M)

Wed AM: Super 8s Strength 2
PM: Rest (took nephews to football)

Thu AM: 6M run in the rain wi Gill
PM: Rest (nap!)

Fri AM: Rest (boys staying over, football and running around with them). PM: Rest

Sat AM: Rest
PM: Rest

Sun AM: Rest
PM: Rest (and Swimming Teaching 4hrs)

I did one strength session last week, I’d meant to do two, but running took over instead, so no harm done there. And I squatted and Deadlifted a pb of 48.5kg which I aim to increase next week.

I had a short nap on the Thursday night after work and then couldn’t get to sleep later, so during get much sleep Thursday night overall. So I decided to ditch my planned strength workout and get an extra hours kip instead. Rest and sleep is very much a part of my programme too.

Friday ended up being a rest day for me, but as I mentioned before activity takes more forms that planned exercise, and I spent about an hour kicking a ball around with my nephews.

Last week was my third week of progressing my long runs so I’m going to take a bit of a breather this weekend and have a few rest days off. I’ll maybe do 8-10 miles on a mid week early morning run. (Although I’m not running next weekend as I’m visiting family instead).

Next week is a bit busier than normal with 3 Personal Training meetings in the evenings, and I’ll get back into my strength work again.

Here’s my plan for next week:

Mon AM: Super 8s Strength 1
PM: Workout / run wi Fit Girl

Tue AM: 8-10 mile run
PM: PT wi Super Fit Bit (Strength)

Wed AM: Super 8s Strength 2
PM: PT meeting new Super Client

Thu AM: 4-5M Run
PM: PT wi Champ

Fri AM: Rest (possible run or strength circuit)
PM: Rest

Sat AM: Rest (travelling to see family)
PM: Rest

Sun AM: Rest
PM: Rest (and Swimming Teaching 4hrs)

It’s going to be another busy week. And then after that I plan to build my long runs up again for three weeks: 18, 21, 24 miles I think, with one of them being a progressive run.

Last week was good. Despite the doubts from colleagues that I might be ‘running too much’, my experience in my own training showed that I know when to do a lot and when to cut back and rest.

Last week I published a few noteworthy or popular posts:

My present to you

The last one, My present to you, really helped quite a lot of people and I got some great feedback so that’s very much. Hopefully you’ll all be wearing your capes when the need arises. 🙂

I believe in myself, and it helps in every area of my life. I hope you can and do now believe in yourself that little bit more now too. 🙂 Now I’m off to have some fun with my nephews.

How did you get on with your training last week and what are you getting up to this week?
