I’m seriously contemplating giving up sugar with the idea to train my body to run on fat as opposed to carbs / glycogen in 2013. It’ll take a lot of learning for me, and probably a lot of will power, but I’m willing to try it to see if I can get my body to use the massive energy source that fat is, as opposed to the limited glycogen storage.
I’m currently reading ‘Slow Burn’ by Stu Middleton, and ‘The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Performance’ by Jeff S Volek to hopefully give me the heads up of how to do it.
Anyway, 2013 ain’t here yet, and I saw this (possibly rather unhealthy, but most probably very tasty) recipe. I got Lorraine Pascale’s cookbook from Santa, and this recipe jumped right out at me.
It took only about 20 minutes to make (plus an hour in the fridge), and it should look like this when it’s done:
The ingredients are: butter, brown sugar, crunchy peanut butter, digestive biscuits, vanilla extract, and chocolate. Here it is in my fridge, chilling:

The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is making this when you’re in the middle of an 18hr FAST!! = TORTURE! 😉
