Rest and recovery :-)

I think I might have my training plan of 1 week of lots of running miles, and the next week as recovery, spot on.

Two days later, after my 4 hour run on Saturday, I feel rather tired today.

I don’t have too many aches or pains… a slight tenderness in my quads and the top of my feet but apart from that my muscles seem fine.

I just feel very very tired.  I did try to have a nap late on Saturday afternoon, but couldn’t sleep.

This week will have just two runs: a 6-8 mile 😉 on on Tuesday morning and a 5 mile one on Thursday morning, both easy pace.  And I’ll try and swim 2-3 times.

In the back of my mind I want to run, but I know that just 2 runs this week would be a good idea, given how tired I’m feeling. 🙂  Then a nice big walk on Saturday before fireworks night!

Today I’m taking on lots of food and water to keep me going. 🙂  I’m getting picked up after work and taken to the swimming pool – so no excuses or Gremlins can come out between now and then!

So far today up to 12 (before lunch):

  • Porridge & cinammon, glass of milk.
  • 2 slices of wholemeal toast.
  • Bagel with Cottage Cheese.
  • Pineapple Chunks.

And low and behold I’m hungry again!  I love the post marathon hunger pangs!

Perhaps a splash in the pool will refresh me tonight? 😉
