Last week I managed 3 out of 4 of my planned runs… the swim on Tuesday wiped me out for Wednesday and I had a bit of a cold so I thought it was sensible not to push it when I didn’t need to.
The long run on Saturday (21.5 miles) was good, my feeling is that I ran it a bit too fast though and should be aiming for 8:30-9:00 minute miles for my long training runs. More practice required. 🙂
Anyway, week 2 of my training for the Clyde Stride 40 mile ultramarathon is as follows:
Monday AM: Rest
Tuesday PM: 5.1 mile run easy am, Double Spinfit pm.
Wednesday AM: 10 mile run hard (hill repeats in Pollock Park)
Thursday AM: 12 mile easy (5 with Gill am), 7 mile easy pm.
Friday: Rest
Saturday: 26 miles run long – Glasgow to Greenock.
Sunday: Rest.
