Rewards in teaching kids to swim

It’s not often this happens, but when it does happen, it feels good. Makes me feel all warm inside and reminds me why I give up 40 Sundays a year to teach swimming: A nice little thank you letter and a box of chocolates from a kid I (and other coaches from Glasgow learn to swim scheme) have taught to swim.

I taught this kid to swim and now she’s progressed from the learn to swim scheme into the City of Glasgow transition team. Perhaps she’ll go onto greater things in the future?

It makes it all worth while when someone recognises you for the work you’ve done, even (and perhaps especially) when the person thanking you is a 9 year old kid. 😀
