Hey, I’m liking this rest week every 4 weeks where I get a week when I don’t really run long and choose how much or how little exercise I do.
So far this week it’s been:
Mon: 5.1M run, 1 hour circuits
Tue: Double Spinfit
Wed: 8M run
Thu: Rest as went to the BBC studio to see Life of Riley being made. Fri: Rest as I went for a birthday dinner with my niece.
Sun: 10k time trial.
I was going to do the 10k time trial on the Thursday or Friday morning but my legs were a little achy so tomorrow it is.
Then week the third 4 weekly block of my training begins. Long runs of 18 miles, 20-22 miles and a half marathon race before the taper starts with a 12 mile run. And my mid week runs will increase to 7-8 miles, playing with speed and tempo.
I need to look into carb loading and what to eat before the marathon but other than that training is going well. 🙂
It’s funny. I get a bit twitchy when I don’t get out for a run or do something. I’m a bit better today because I know I’m running tomorrow and the rest will probably do me good.
