On Thursday I went swimming at Tollcross then played a bit of a warm up at basketball. I just wanted to make sure that my ankle was ok with the layups / jumping / landing. And it was…but I didn’t want to risk another injury so didn’t stay to play the games.
I got to Tollcross around ten to 7 and remember when I got in the pool how good a pool it is. 50m long, 25m across, there were about 5 people in the who thing when I got in. I had the lane to myself for most of the swim. The pool started to get a bit busier as I got out, 3 lanes of 6-8 people swimming in groups. Not my idea of fun.
Anyway – I got in the pool and did Swim Session 9 – which I thought was 2300m, but it ended up being 1800m – in 34:46:
2 x 100m FC steady: 1:36, 1:43 (3,12)
8 x 50m FC pull descend: 49, 50, 51, 53, 53, 55, 54, 58 (3,6,3,3,2,3,6,26)
1000m FC fast: 18:07 (34)
200m BS: 4:31
The second set (8 x 50m) should have been 8 x 100m to bring the overall swim distance up to 2000m, but nevermind. I think I’ll amend that wee workout and include a few extra hundreds in the warm up set.
Ave HR: 143 (75%), Max HR: 161 (85%), calories: 409.
After the swim, I got changed and did the basketball warm up. There were 9 of us there and we had half an hour of warm up/drills… a bit too long for me I thought…if I had been playing for real, I’d have rather’d have got on with the games sooner!!
Nevermind, I took some pics and videos of them so that I could furnish the facebook page.
