Wk21- Thu 27th – gym, part swim

Thursday I spent lunch time trying to get my gf’s car fixed…managed it for just £40…got the bit repaired instead of replaced by a nice man I know (I teach his kid to swim).
 
Then on Thursday night I was about to go to Tollcross when I remembered there’s strike action on on Friday and Monday – and the last time there was strike action on a Friday, the pool was shut on a Thursday night… so I phoned up and low and behold it was shut. Ba**ards.  I agree with the fact they are striking, but I hate that it’s affecting me!!  Nevermind.  I got my gym and swim in anyway.
 
The benches were mainly being used, so I had to work around them, but got everything done.  Oh and my shoulders are killing from Tuesdays gym session, so I couldnt lift as heavy weights on Thursday night… I’m good with that though.
 
GYM – 50 mins, 440 cals.
WIDE STANCE SQUATS – 5 x 5 – 16kg / GYM BALL LEG CURL – 3 x 20
INCLINE BENCH PRESS – 5 x 5 – 10kg / LATERAL RAISE – 5 x 5 – 10kg
3 x 5 x 20 – PRESS UP, GYM BALL: ROLL OUT, JACK KNIFE, BACK EXTENSION, PULL OVER
ROMANIAN DEADLIFT – 5 x 5 – 16kg / CUBAN PRESS – 5 x 5 – 10kg
CONCENTRATION CURL – 5 x 5 – 10kg / BENCH DIPS – 5 x 20
OVERHEAD TRICEP EXT – 5 x 10 – 10kg / BENCH PRESS – 5 x 5 – 12kg
 
As I was at the Gorbals a few of the machines weren’t available but I did other exercises instead.  The incline bench press was hard and I had to reduce my weight from 14kg to 12kg to 10. lol
 
Then I did my swim.  By the time I got to the pool it was getting on for ten past 8, and I was told the pool was open to 9…do I went in and aimed to do about a mile (64 lengths). 139, 161, 98, 344.
 
I started swimming swim session 8 – a 1000m set, then I missed out the second 1000m set and went onto 6 x 100m. 1600 in total.

I wish I could bottle the feeling I get during and after a swim so that I could feel it before I go.  For some reason in the back of my mind I dread the thought of swimming… not sure why… perhaps its the pressure of doing the sessions (3400m etc).  But I like doing them and I know they’re good for me so I’ll keep at them.
 
Ankle was fine in the pool last night. I decided not to use it too much….  Open-mouthed
