Today I went on my first early morning run in AGES! It was really hard to get out of bed when the alarm went off at 645… but I managed it. It was a nice day so I wasn’t going to give in to the urge to sleep on.
I did my usual 6k morning route of up to Maxwell Park and back, and all was gonig well until around half way when I got a stitch! Haven’t had one of them in a while! I slowed my pace a little instead of stopping. I had been running at around 4:40 minute kilometres (13kph), so slowing it down wasnt going to be that bad. My heart rate was up at around 170-180 so I knew I could slow it down.
I finished the 6k in 30:44 minutes, which is a 25.5 minute 5k – a little slower than normal, but better than usual on that route. It was nice to do the route again and especially at that time in the morning! I just need to keep this up coming into winter now!!
